302 – Chasing The Moon

How was I supposed to say “no”
To the illuminated request of a single glow
That burns; for me alone

I have followed you across the sky
And still you seem to whisper goodbye
Like you mean it; one last line

Having arrived on the tail-end of day
As if it had always been intended that way
So polar opposite; and nearly the same

I can feel the touch of your gaze too
Watching over all the ways that I move
A night; ended by morning too soon
