211 – One Foot After The Other

One foot after the other.
That was the only thought I could process.
Thunder rolled ominously in the sky and
Rain pounded down on the lean-to roof
Of the rickety, rotting wooden shelter.
A deep breath escaped my lungs and
I shuffled into the thick wall of raindrops;
Left foot, right foot. Left foot, right foot.
