156 – She Smiles

Her eyes are still searching
They’re hungry and yearning
I think that it’s you
They can hear

She’s coy and she’s hiding
Pretends to be fighting
The change all around
When you’re near

And she smiles like the thousands
Of miles she’s wandered
By biting her tongue
And ignoring the blood

The taste of regret
Shuts away in her head
A world brought to life
When she smiles
