131 – Romanced

I think fear pulls us apart as much
As sentiment throws us together
And you’re like this tether to the
Mistakes I’ve learned from and
The times I would re-do differently
So you would see it was just timing
A not-being-able-to-align thing
Maybe another place another time
I might’ve been yours or you mine
So we’re trapped now going forward
I don’t know if that leads your way
We’re just hooked on a good memory
Romanced by things that used to be

  1. I really like this one. Well, I am a sucker for memories and regret n’ all. “it was just timing/
A not-being-able-to-align thing” is such an effortless rhyme though. It made me smile. Jealously 🙂

    1. I love it when you stop by. I did slip into the ease of the rhyme in this one, and have a bit lately, but I’m okay with it. I’m messing around with my style. And deciding if I even have one. Nostalgic maybe… Your smiling makes me smile!
