Some days
I pat life on the shoulder

I say
“Thanks for being a soldier”

For the
Little bank account surprises

And for
Reminding me that I am alive

Because I
Feel like sometimes I just get by

On scraps
Of good luck and good intentions

Which is
Fine but it is also terrifying

When I
Can’t prepare for whatever’s coming

That’s when
My head starts running in circles

The best

Fine line on the edge of the edge
