80 – Weather and Whether

I want to call it pretentious but can’t
That you’re smug in all your rightness
Your blatant disregard for seasons
As if they are the singular reason
For overflowing bottles of feelings
Summer never wanted you to fall
Into winter’s icy arms only to give
You back with a spring in his crawl
That isn’t to say I don’t agree though
Monotony is in the way wind blows
In metaphors about things that grow
Too, in snow banished by passing time
Melted away by unconventional rhyme
I wrote once about whether or weather
Now I say both! Each word a treasure
Thanks to you and a brush of your feather
