75 – I’d Do It Again

Post-all of the pain, with the
Composure that’s been regained

Hindsight is served lukewarm
On suffocating, silver similes

Floating in a shore of bruises
We got dangerously used to it

The pain was never a surprise
Or ever too expensive a price

Time circled us like a vulture
Maybe it was always done-for

To remember it all is enough
Even the gasp of losing love

Expecting any different was
In the end, the biggest joke

Even through a speck of hope
The past doesn’t go anywhere

It has a habit of just being there
Everywhere you go, waiting for

You to fall so it can catch you
Even in the good there’s bad

Watching love get dragged away
With the things you never said
