67 – The War

The unfortunate irony is that
Some great love comes from
Another lifetime where odds
Were never stacked up high
Ill-fated, star-crossed lovers
Are best versions of themselves
Without fear holding them back

Some love exists in other times
That are not plagued by classes
Where loving controversially
Is more than entirely acceptable
Even though it will be more question
Than it could ever be an answer

Some great loves are uphill knife battles
And while the war makes no sense at all
To not fight would be the greater tragedy
As if there were nothing worth fighting for
