I Don’t Love You

I could sit here and stare at you
For as long as I wanted
I would still see digital eyes
That do not offer any soul
And click-clacked words on
A face that never tries to smile
You could have me right here
To be all yours and no one else’s
I would still be crying inside
For someone to rescue me
Perhaps a knight in paper armour
With a pen as his mighty sword
And heart as his trusty steed
I could be trapped with you
In news that never sleeps
And my eyes would still close
To dream of make believe stages
And immortal red wine poetry.
